Hello, friends!
It's taken me quite a long time to think about everything that happened to us in 2024 and to decide where we're going in 2025. But the time has finally come! And I invite you to take a little journey with the Story Architect team through the year 2024, and fantasize about what we can make in our 2025!
But first, I'd like to thank all of you guys! Everyone who is surrounding this project! Thank you, darlings, for helping me realize my dreams! Thank you for helping to make the world a better place! Thank you for criticism and for your support, for your help, for discussions! Thank you for everything, friends! You all have become like one big family! Huge hugs to you all! 🤗
This past year has been more fruitful than ever. Overall, we managed to follow the plan for the year. Yes, it wasn't fully executed, but that's a classic.
The main accomplishment of the year is surely the release of the first version of the Android app and its subsequent refinements. It's been a long road, but we've made it through. Yes, the version is still rather limited in functionality, but it was a deliberate decision to publish it as early as possible, firstly to show you how our work is going, secondly to hear your opinion, and thirdly - it allowed us to keep the number of bugs and problems in the application at a controlled level.
The desktop application has also grown significantly this year. A timeline module, revision mode, the ability to import PDF files, and many other, albeit smaller, but undoubtedly useful improvements have been introduced.
The last point of the 2024 plan contained the goal of building a knowledge base around the app and over the course of this year we have added a huge amount of reference material. In general, even now you can google any question about our app and it will give you a link to an article that discusses the issue. We don't plan to stop here and we will continue to grow our knowledge base even more by adding not only text articles but also video tutorials.
In the new year, we will take several strategic directions at once.
This is the number one goal across the board. We will be more about fixing existing issues and bugs, improving application performance rather than adding more and more features.
Many users say that we need to promote the app more actively, as not many people know about it. That's why we plan to focus on getting STARC into all possible app stores (both mobile and desktop) in the coming year and in all articles reviewing tools for authors. And, of course, we'd appreciate it if you'd also help us tell the world about it by sharing your stories and experiences with your colleagues.
We released the Android version this year and have no plans to stop - the iOS version is on its way! There are literally just days left until it sees the light of day. And after that, the number 1 task in the mobile direction will be the implementation of interaction with the cloud service for seamless synchronization of projects in real time.
Before that, we always went from the side of the authors and created a tool that is most useful and convenient for them. But recently, more and more producers see the potential in our product, which can help optimize the process of creating film productions. We are already cooperating with some of them and negotiating with others, looking for common ground.
In the coming year, we plan to actively develop these relationships and provide tools for companies to work with, such as the ability to move cloud project storage into the corporate loop, technical document validation, improved handling of drafts/versions of documents, and more.
Those are the plans, guys.
We'll keep working, keep evolving and getting better day by day. Thank you very much and see you soon!
Always yours
and always with a smile,
Dimka Novikov
