Well then, the time has come to say goodbye to 2025, to remember the main things it brought us, and to plan something special for 2026!
As tradition goes, first of all I want to express my respect, my admiration, and my gratitude to you! I will never get tired of repeating this and am ready to shower you with thanks every single time :) Thank you for everything that has been between us! For being there and supporting us. For speaking honestly about problems. For believing and rooting for us! I thank you with all my heart and send rays of kindness to you in every corner of the globe, wherever you may be!
2025
To be honest, the past year was very difficult for us. Personally, by my own feelings, I went through the hero’s journey several times over the course of the year. And each time it felt as if I was sinking deeper and deeper… And now, having gone through all of that, it’s even surprising to realize that things have worked out on the one hand, and on the other to understand that this won’t last long and the call of a new adventure will soon take over again.
For a number of reasons, we couldn’t release updates as quickly as we wanted. We didn’t manage to do even half of what we had planned… But nevertheless, we didn’t stand still and kept moving toward our goals.
And thanks to this, the number of authors regularly using STARC exceeded 20,000 in December! Just imagine it — authors from more than 160 countries are with us!
Stability
In every update we paid special attention to improving the stability of the application. We invested a huge amount of effort into stabilizing the cloud service. We tried to resolve as many issues with crashes and unexpected shutdowns as possible. Yes, some problems still remain, and we will continue working on them.
Distribution
Over the past year, we managed to get into the Windows app store! This is a very important milestone for us. Windows has been and remains the most widespread operating system among our users, which is why this was our first priority.
Mobile version
We managed to release a version for iOS and iPadOS. After that, we wanted to start working on cloud service integration, but we realized that first we needed to refine the basic functionality of the editors so that synchronization would not result in the loss of part of the texts’ metadata (such as editorial notes, bookmarks, highlights, and revisions). So we focused on that work. At the moment, it’s already close to completion — and then, the cloud!
Productions and platforms
Here everything is going according to plan — the first launches of author rooms. We’re expanding functionality for team management. We’re trying to find common ground with platforms. And on top of that, the first universities have started joining us!
2026
My dream and goal for the coming year is version 1.0! I want to give you a tool that will work almost flawlessly: maximum comfort, convenience, and reliability.
Version 1.0
Maximum focus on stability, performance, security, and fixing all flaws in the application.
A minimal number of new features. Mostly these will be adaptations of missing modules across all toolsets — for example, the ability to work with cards and timelines in comics, statistics for novels, and so on. Plus, we plan to redesign the AI assistant so that you can interact with it in a more familiar way — simply by chatting with it.
Distribution
We will definitely continue working on distribution and presence on various platforms, so that installing each update is even more convenient for you!

Mobile version
The mobile application will gradually begin to step out of the shadow of its older brother. We see great interest in a version of the app that you can work with on the go.
We plan to add in the coming year:
- account and session management
- expanded profiles for characters, locations, and worlds
- project synchronization
Enterprise direction
We will definitely continue working in this direction and developing our STUDIO and CAMPUS versions, adding flexibility and convenience to team management for authors and students.
We will create an educational course on how to work with the application.
Yes, experience teaches us nothing… :)
